Strategic Priorities

Religious Freedom

The United States Constitution establishes this right on its first amendment “Congress shall make no respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

250 years later, religious freedom has become one of the most challenging issues of our culture and society.

NAHPA believes that freedom of religion is a fundamental human right that protects the conscience of all people. It allows us to think, express and act upon what we deeply believe publicly and peacefully.

Religious freedom is more than the liberty to worship at a church building. Religious freedom means that people should not have to go against their core values and beliefs to conform to culture or government. It recognizes the gift of volition given by God to all persons, the gift of free choice (Genesis 1:26) a principle supported in scripture.

God gave human beings the right to choose even if they make the wrong choice, therefore it is a right that we must give each other.

Unfortunately, this freedom is eroding. There is much that an organization like NAHPA with the support of its members can do to protect our religious liberties.

NAHPA pledges itself to continue to ensure that these liberties continue to be protected by our government as specified in the word of God and stablished on our constitution.

Strategy to accomplish our Religious Freedom Goals

1. Advocating in different levels of government

2. Creating initiatives

3. Summoning the support of religious leaders

4. Educating our members on the issue

5. Engaging The culture

Family

NAHPA supports the biblical model of the family. In Genesis 1 God created men and women after his own image and direct them to “be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis1:27-28; 2;23-24)

Throughout the Bible God commands men and women to respect and work to have healthy marriage as it is the representation of God's relationship with the church on this Earth (Ephesians 5:25).

We believe that the family is the foundation of our society and that it needs to be protected and strengthened.

We believe that a healthy family is the solution to the problem of many of our present social problems as are poverty, violence, and crime.

NAHPA will advocate and work in supporting the strengthening of the biblical model of the family in our nation.

Strategy to accomplish our Religious Freedom Goals

1. Advocating in different levels of government

2. Equipping pastors and leaders on how to strengthen the family

3. Equipping and educating families

4. Creating opportunities for parents and their children to have a better future

5. Engage the culture

Human Life & Dignity

Every human life is created after God's own image. Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Life starts from conception in the mother’s womb. Psalms 139: 13-16 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

NAHPA advocates of protecting human life from the moment of conception to the moment in which ceases to live; believing that all human lives are created after the image of God (Genesis 1)

Every human life is a gift of God to the world and it needs to be respected.

NAHPA believes that human lives need to be protected, specially the most vulnerable and the ones that cannot speak for themselves.

We believe that every person deserves equal opportunities to experience the plan that God has for their life (Jeremiah 29:11) and access to equal opportunities to life.

Strategy to accomplish our Human life and dignity priority

1. Advocating in different levels of government

2. Engaging other organizations and movements that are already advocating and working

on different facets of the issue

3. Educating and equipping pastors on the issue

4. Strengthening the family

5. Engaging the culture
